Lorde

I recently came across this amazing 16 year old singer Ella Yelich-O'Connor while reading Harpers Bazaar. I had heard her song Royals on the radio but hadn't known who she was. Then I decided to look her up and came upon this song. Her voice is so captivating. I can see big things happening for this girl!! Watch this space… :) xx

FAKASAKA Jewellery.

So I have recently come across this amazing new jewellery label 'Fakasaka' designed by Fernando Akasaka. Founded in 2006, the company makes a range of products including furniture, lighting and jewellery. Influenced by the underground scene, the jewellery collection is handmade from gold and sterling silver, and has come about from Akasaka playing around and trying out new things with shapes and textures. Based in San Paulo, he is well known for his incredible designs, consisting of contemporary furniture, lamps and household objects. However, this talented designer was destined for great things and it wasn't long before he created his own jewellery line, which came about from his constant experimentation with precious metals and his drive to create original and unique pieces.
His jewellery ranges from approximately $80 to $800 US dollars and I personally think the pieces are worth every penny! It is definitely worth your while heading to his website now, as there are some amazing pieces on sale! I'm totally in love with sterling silver and already have such a large collection of rings, which after discovering this label- is about to grow even more! After the photos with the models below, I've included photos of some of my fave pieces... I'm really wanting the first and second ring (with the snake), the cuff in the sixth photo down and the ring in the second last photo. I actually would love it all (hey, a girl can only dream!), but I feel like four is a reasonable number to start with. Don't you think!? All of these amazing pieces can be bought here! They post all over the world and have currently gone on sale too, so don't miss out :) xxx

There's just something so captivating about Aussie models.

I love these shots! LOVE… Anja is so beautiful, and looking at these photos, has made me want to die my hair back peroxide blonde… Or just really, really blonde!! I'm sick of growing it out for 2 years now.. SOOOO over ittttt. Anyway- these photographs are captivating and beautiful and definitely tell a storey, making me want to see more from the series! I don't care if she isn't tall, and I'm starting to think that the modelling world isn't caring about height so much anymore either… Except on the runway still- one day that will change ;)….. At the end of the day, a good model is someone who is intriguing. Who you can't stop looking at and who sells the images to you. Published in May 2013, for Ausländer Summer 2014, by Andre Nicolau, for Vogue brazil, I can only hope that our Aussie mags take after those overseas and start using some of our more amazing raw Aussie talent in our own mags.. THE COLOURS, THE STYLING, THE CASTING… HONESTLY THIS would HAVE TO BE ONE OF MY MOST RECENT FAVOURITE SERIES :) xx

Dress up for The Great Gatsby, Village Cinema's Melbourne Thursday 30th May.

So on Thursday night I was invited down by Kerry O'brien Publicity and Twenty3 to celebrate Baz Luhrmann's long awaited film, The Great Gatsby, at the Gold Class lounge of Village cinemas in the Jam Factory. Guests were invited to dress up Gatsby style for the opening of the film, wearing glitter'n'glam and bringing the feel of visiting the movie theatre in the 20's back to life. All the cinema-goers who dressed up on the night, had the chance to win a share of $10,000 in on the spot and major prizes. Stunning model and 2011 Miss Universe Australia winner, Scherri-Lee Biggs (who is so gorgeous and lovely) joined NOVA morning show announcer Deano (Dean Thomas), at the Jam Factory evening sessions to judge the best dressed for the event.
As you can see in the photos below, the winner was Alicia who won a special prize from Tiffanys- I mean, which girl wouldn't be happy with a beautiful blue bag!?? I'm not to sure what was inside, but I'm sure it was AMAZINGGGG…
I didn't know how many people I expected to arrive dressed up and in character of The Great Gatsby, but was pleasantly surprised with the amount of effort the girls, and even a few of the guys put in!! I really did feel transported back in time to a place of glamour and extravagance. I'm now truly excited to go and see the film and usually have quite high hopes for a Baz Luhrman film. Either way, I'm sure I'll be greatly entertained :) xx
