LIFEwithBIRD Warehouse SALE!!!

Well it's that time of year again... SALE TIME!! Gotta love a good bargain. Each time my sister Bird (of LIFEwithBIRD- did I need to write that or was that just silly cause it's obvious!?) has a warehouse sale, I always put my hand up to work for that little bit of extra cash. Yet every time I work, I walk away with no cash in my wallet- just a hell of a lot of amazing bargains I end up buying instead! It's always the same, every time. There's a few of us that have all worked together over the last few sales and they always hear me say 'This time I'm not buying anything!' But I just can't help it.. When your surrounded by beautiful clothing for a really cheap price- it's just to hard to say no! So I have already worked a couple of days and made no money, I've just added to my wardrobe. Sorry mum. She is always telling me to stop spending all my money and start saving. Anyway if you are in Melbourne I highly recommend popping your head in to the sale as you are bound to find something! All details are below- maybe I'll see you there as I still have a couple more shifts- and I'm still planning on taking home a little bit of money- wish me luck, cause I definitely need it!!

Life with Bird, Hawksburn.

So tonight was the official opening of my sisters fifth store in Hawskburn Village, Melbourne.  It is such a beautiful store which Bird and Nick pretty much designed and built themselves (pretty impressive!). Fitted with what looks to be unfinished wood work, white walls and diagonal white cement boxes/ stands, the store is very minimal and fresh, which I personally love as the clothes come to life against the stark contrasting background. I took a couple of photos to share with you all while I was browsing around looking at all the beautiful clothes. The current collection is amazing and I have to say each time round, Bridget and Nick's designs seem to just get better and better! Definitely a little bit proud :) Anyway, hope you enjoy the photos below (and pop into one of the stores if your planning a shopping day- you won't be disappointed!) xx

Ksubi last resort. VIP shopping night.

One of my all time favourite labels Ksubi is having a VIP shopping night this Thursday!! Having worked at the High st store for 3 years (a few years ago now) I have built up quite the collection of jeans. However, there is always room for more!! Check out the flyer below for more info :) xx

Finnigan Swimwear.

Roxy Green, the daughter of Alan Green (co-founder of Quicksilver) launched her amazing swimwear label 'Finnigan' earlier this year and she stocks them in a retail/gallery space on High st in Prahran, Melbourne. The space, known as 'Fin' houses fashion alongside rotating artworks by emerging artists. Every 3 months, a new exhibition is shown on the gallery floor with works available to be purchased. The debut swimwear label has 11 pieces in total with nine bikinis and two full pieces ranging from $90 to $180. Roxy uses italian fabrics for her pieces and they are all designed and manufactured in Australia which makes me smile. Seeing as summer is just around the corner, I thought it would be appropriate to start thinking about which bikinis/ one pieces I am wanting to purchase this year. Some girls have a shoe or handbag fetish. Mine- leggings and bikinis. Oh and jewellery! If you haven't heard of Green with Envy yet then you have been missing out! Starting over 10 years ago the Melbourne based couple Irene and Chris Nicholas began with one store on Bridge rd in Richmond. Today they have 3 stores (Bridge rd, Finders lane and Chapel st) and also an online store and website. I managed the third store for around a year on Chapel st in South Yarra. Let me tell you, I saved no money!! With constant deliveries of new clothes, jewellery, shoes and accessories, you are bound to find something for yourself any day. The stores are open till 7pm on Thursday nights and 8pm on Fridays allowing working girls to come after hours in preparation for weekend events etc… Now with the online store open and in action you have no excuse to miss out!! I have just been on the website and had a sneaky look at the new arrivals. Here are some dresses from Camilla and Marc, Acne, Alexander Wang and T by Alexander Wang. Just another reason to start saving money! The Alexander Wang dresses are my favourite as I love a mini black dress and they are great to accessories with.
