MBFWA 2013: designer Camilla and Marc

For years and years one of my favourite designer couple duos (be it brother and sister, not husband and wife) have been Camilla and Marc. I honestly first thought they were a couple, cause they look so different, but was swiftly told that no, they are not together, they are related! Anyway, what a beautiful collection they produced this season. Black, white, bronze, lace and colourful animal print. All the things that make me excited- in terms of fashion and design. I love the belts! With what looks to be a rose gold metal buckle, or also in black and silver. I love the second photo of the white dress on Cassie. The slit at the front is in just the right position to show off the best part of a woman's leg- when she walks. Oh so sexy. I also like how the dress is not fitted and sits off the body- yet is quite structured. It's very appealing and interesting. The bronze printed 'velvet-looking' pants and bodysuit are to die for! So good… The ideas of outfits I would pair either of those items with, going through my head are endless..    The lace fabric they have used in the collection is divine! Truly stunning.. I really want the long sleeve lace top seen in the last photo! Diggin the low slung purple printed pants in the sixth photo on my fave model Claire.. God she's hot and looks super cool in this outfit. After Claire, is Ollie who after LMFF dyed her hair from peroxide blonde- something she was known quite well known for, to dark brown. She's definitely a chameleon, looking good with any colour hair! Wish i could say the same for myself! I tried going dark brown once and it did not look good at all!! Anyway, back to Camilla and Marc and that lace top she's wearing. How friggin how is it!?? She has no bra on and looks so sophisticated and elegant which is not something you would usually say about a girl with a lace top and no bra. Then after this look I love the bronze bodice playsuit with high waisted belt and sheer skirt. HOT! The necklace also works perfectly as an accessory for the look. Then we have the purple and orange leopard print. AMAZING…. I love orange and I love animal print… The purple is a surprisingly good contrast and works really well back with the print. Theres a few different styles in this print but I particularly like the skirt and the way its styled back with a plain bright yellow silk blouse is perfect. Bright, bold and fun, without being too much. The light grey-blue and black print dress is super cute! The print almost looks like little branches or something. I love the style of dress and I  can see so this being one of their best sellers amongst the younger C & M fans. I in fact would love to own this… Very cute! The black and white dress next, isn't my style at all, but it is so beautiful and I love the way you can see the white lining under the fluted twist skirt. Very classic and stylish. Then you have Rachel Rutt in the white pants and crop top (that every girl needs in her wardrobe!). I love the contrast of the black belt, the shape of the white crop top and the fit of these pants- although it is slightly hard to tell in the photos. Last there is my favourite top!! That lace fitted long sleeve, high neck style is oh so beautiful. Oh la laaaaa.. The skirt- not such a fan of. but hey- that's just me!! Anyway, to see more of the photos click HERE. Enjoy xx

MBFWA 2013: designer Ellery

Ellery can do no wrong. Really. Her designs are beautiful and desirable. I want to own so much of her collection. It's always the way! I love the shoes they have used in her show, they are ultra cool and somehow remind me of the days when I was obsessed with dressing like a dancer, and thinking that it was cool to wear leg warmers out, with dresses or whatever. That sounds really weird doesn't it! Maybe some of you will know what I mean. I love the look of the mini shorts or skirts with this heavy shoe, which looks almost like mini 'A-Line skirts' over your ankles. Perfect for me as I have Cankles. You know- the calves that run into your ankle, so you really don't have any!? Well, thats me- so these shoes are the perfect disguise. Anyway, I love the first look. Black and gold always looks great together. So does a big jacket with small, mini shorts. The models legs may infact add to the reason why this 'look', looks soooo amazing! Probably. Then there's Julia looking angelic in the second photo. Her beautiful pale skin, white blonde hair work well with the all over white look. Her look's have grown on me in a massive way. At first I really wasn't sure what I thought about her, but she truly is beautiful and not in the obvious way. The more you look at her, the more you fall in love with her looks. I'm loving the pants in the third photo, but also have to comment on the models hair cause I dig it.. Messy and styled perfectly. Then I have put up another photo of Julia in that beautiful black dress. She's so slim and tall so she looks absolutely breathtaking in this dress. It's amazing how eye-catching a plain black dress can be. I love Cassie's look in the photo below with the very basic mini black dress contrasted with the white shoes. I have to say though, she's too skinny!! I saw her walk in the LMFF and was thinking the same thing in the flesh.. The fact that she has a baby, baffles me.. How it is possible and to have a body like that!?? I guess she's still, what, 20?? Yes she is naturally skinny- that's for sure, but this is different. She's lost too much weight. Anyway, she still looks amazing, as does her hair. It's a beautiful colour at the moment. All in all, the hair and makeup for the Ellery show is beautiful! I'm loving the look after Cassi in the seventh photo down. I always love a bulky jacket tied around a stylish outfit. Once again, I just feel the shoes tie the whole look together and work perfectly! Then there is the model Claire Collins (99% sure that's her name), who I think is one of the most stunning models in the Aussie market right now. She is sooooooo beautiful! Anyway- I love the gold skirt, but not sure about the top.. It's growing on me, but I don't get the look right off the bat.. I'm obsessed with the look after that with the bulky black jumper and high waisted black shorts. Super cool and easy and hot! I think it's very sexy for a girl to be wearing quite bulky clothing on the top, with something mini and loosely fitted or figure hugging, so you show off your legs. I think its flattering and sexy- especially when your a model and have legs like those!! Lastly there is Ruby Jean in an outfit I probably wouldn't of clicked and saved had it not been for her in it.. That's the amazing thing about her- she can make anything look good and appealing. Mary Katrantzou at David Jones

Today I attended an intimate event at David Jones with Mary Katrantzou, the well known Greek designer who is only 29 and has already made it big internationally with her statement print designs, which are beautiful and technical. Each design is engineered precisely to each size of dress, so that it looks the same on a size 6 to a size 16. When designing, she thinks about each womens figure so that the prints she uses compliment them, so they look and feel amazing. It's a skill not many designers have and it may be due to her background in architecture, which makes sense. Edwina McCann, the editor of Vogue Australia interviewed the 'queen of prints' in front of a small group of guests and I was really impressed with the way she spoke. She is very approachable and talks about her incredible designs so naturally, that it makes it seem easy, when it is far from. She mentioned that some prints can take up to 6 months to complete. Women all around the world, of every age are wanting to wear her designs and I am one of them. The colours, prints and textures are stunning and we were lucky enough to be up close to a range of her designs which I took some photos of to share with you below. One day, I will own one of her dresses! It's definitely something on my wish list!! Enjoy xx

ESPRIT supports UN Women.

On March 8th is International Womens Day. This year, Esprit has teamed up with the UN to support the end of violence against women. They have created a range of purple merchandise which has been on sale since February 20th, and with any purchase of purple product, Esprit will donate a massive 50% of the profits to the UN 'Critical Services Initiative,' promoting empowerment and ending violence against women. 
The range consists of 24 pieces of womenswear clothing which is sold throughout Australia in the Esprit stores. To find your closest store, click HERE. They have made it easy to find something for everyone, as you have the option of different hues of purple and a variety of basic Tees to wrap dresses and even silk blouses! The promotion is taking place for the whole month of March so you still have 26 days to get a wriggle on and support an amazing cause. The main focus of 'The Critical Services Initiative' is to help women in Papua New Guinea, by providing counselling and food to those living in shelters, while also helping to provide training to the police force on how to deal with domestic violence and supporting local governments enforce laws. Jennifer Tapia, the Senior Country Merchandiser for Esprit provided the quote below;

I sometimes forget just how lucky I am to grow up in Australia and it is nice to be able to give a little back sometimes. By doing such a small thing, like buying a basic purple T-shirt, or even a beautiful purple silk blouse, you are helping to fight violence against women. I hope that by sharing this with you, we can all play a role and purchase a piece of purple this March from Esprit.
