ESPRIT supports UN Women.

On March 8th is International Womens Day. This year, Esprit has teamed up with the UN to support the end of violence against women. They have created a range of purple merchandise which has been on sale since February 20th, and with any purchase of purple product, Esprit will donate a massive 50% of the profits to the UN 'Critical Services Initiative,' promoting empowerment and ending violence against women.
The range consists of 24 pieces of womenswear clothing which is sold throughout Australia in the Esprit stores. To find your closest store, click HERE. They have made it easy to find something for everyone, as you have the option of different hues of purple and a variety of basic Tees to wrap dresses and even silk blouses! The promotion is taking place for the whole month of March so you still have 26 days to get a wriggle on and support an amazing cause. The main focus of 'The Critical Services Initiative' is to help women in Papua New Guinea, by providing counselling and food to those living in shelters, while also helping to provide training to the police force on how to deal with domestic violence and supporting local governments enforce laws. Jennifer Tapia, the Senior Country Merchandiser for Esprit provided the quote below;
 "Esprit is very proud to support UN Women Australia’s 'Critical Services Project' in supporting and educating communities on ending violence against women. Our values and vision resonate with the Esprit woman and the project provides an opportunity to make a concrete impact on a woman's life."
Founded in 1968, Esprit is a homage to the relaxed, Californian attitude towards life. For Women, Men and Kids of all ages, Esprit creates inspiring styles from high quality materials, paying great attention to detail. In September 2011, a transformation program was launched which will run till 2015 and is designed to sustainably strengthen the brand. Available in more then 40 countries worldwide, with more than 1000 stores, the company has over 12,000 employees and it is so great to see such a international brand get behind such an important cause. This is not the first time the brand has been involved with such an amazing cause, as for Susie and Doug, the founders of Esprit, it is never just about the fashion. For them, it is about generating awareness for important social issues, such as AIDS, as well as being keen environmentalists who want to create a sustainable planet for us to live on.
I sometimes forget just how lucky I am to grow up in Australia and it is nice to be able to give a little back sometimes. By doing such a small thing, like buying a basic purple T-shirt, or even a beautiful purple silk blouse, you are helping to fight violence against women. I hope that by sharing this with you, we can all play a role and purchase a piece of purple this March from Esprit. Below are some images from the collection, with the beautiful Erin Wasson photographed as well. I believe if we all stand up together, we really can make a difference! I know I'll be buying something purple- and I hope you lovelies do too :) xx

Fenella Scarlett ft. Camberwell Market, Coming this Sunday.

So it's come to a time where I need to part ways with my belongings.. After being spread out across two houses, over filling 4 wardrobes- scattering clothes throughout the house in boxes- I'm proud to be saying, this Sunday 3rd March I am having a Camberwell Market Store. A friend texted me the other day out of the blue saying she had a spot, right at a time when I was just thinking about how to get rid of all my things. It's funny the way the universe works.. Sometimes it's like you are talking to it in your thoughts, and it answers in mysterious ways. Anyway- its not a car spot so I can't give you the best info, but as I am told, I believe I am situated in the middle walkway at the back of the car spots there. I don't have an amazing group of things, but as they say 'One ladies trash, is another's treasure.' So I'm sticking to that belief and going for gold.. I just need to make sure I stick to my store and don't go wondering- spending more then I make. Something I am good at, and have a tendency of doing a little more than I would like.
So if you lovelies are free this Sunday, pop down! I'll be there from about 6:30-7am, hopefully by that stage all set up and ready to go! There will be a few goodies there so don't miss out! Hope to see you.. If I don't know you, introduce yourself and say hi! I love meeting new people and making new friends :) xx (NOTE TO PEOPLE: photos below are taken from google images and are not my own photos or clothes.. just like to include imagery to get the feel of the post, you know!? And just to clarify, I know the photos are a little bit silly and clash with each other but whatevs) xx

FOM '15 minutes' Campaign.

So I met the lovely Catherine Liem of Style Hostess the other morning at the LMFF program briefing. Catherine started her blog back in November, 2011 and since then has been posting anything that she finds 'inspiring, from editorials to cookbooks, street style candids and some personal photos.'  She is so sweet and I'm really glad I got to meet her the other morning! I'm sure we will cross paths again soon. So anyway, after finding her blog Style Hostess I came across her post on Friend of Mines latest '15 minutes' campaign. Teale and Teish teamed up with Alexandra Spencer again, who both styled and photographed the campaign, along with model Rachel Russel (who on the Friend of Mine blog says she's with Next Models, but I can't seem to find her!?),  and hair and make up artist Carelene K, who managed to put together a very soft and natural look with a touch of a smokey eye, which I love!! (PS woah that sentence had so many commas in it…. so many!) Anywayyyy, the model is absolutely stunning and not only that, but the girls mentioned they 'wanted to find a model who could play different roles. Someone who could be vulnerable and mysterious.' I have to say I think she was cast really well and I find her very captivating. It is always so interesting to find the inspiration behind the work of artists, photographers and anyone in the creative realm of work. For this particular campaign, the shots are 'in vain of the "15 mins" quote -made famous by Andy Warhoul.' The photographs are taken in 'documentary style' and aim to highlight the juxtaposition between the reality and glamour of 'life in the lime light.' As it is often believed or viewed upon in society, the life of the rich and famous (and especially models), is seen as 'glamorous, attractive, elegant' to name a few. However, beyond the beautiful hair, make-up and editorials is hours of hard work. To produce a campaign or editorial can take days or even weeks for the final results to be complete. Lots of early mornings and late nights are involved and it is often far from 'glamorous.' But when the jobs are all done and we get to see the final work, it is well worth it!! I respect all those in the fashion business and am so proud of both my sisters, friends and Teale for being a small percentage of the many in the industry who can claim they 'have made it.' Anyway, thanks to Catherine Liem, I came across these shots as I hadn't yet (such a small world in the end!) I just wanted to repost them as I love Alex Spencer's photography and styling! Such a cool cat. Not only is she possibly the hottest woman on the planet, but she is damn talented too!! Enjoy! (Wow… sometimes I really write a lot…. I don't even realise until I have finished, then look and think- how did that happen!? Anyway, hopefully I'm interesting :P…)  xx

Isabel Marant

In 1994, Isabel Marant (born in 1967) founded her label, named after herself. She has 10 shops worldwide in the cities of Tokyo, New York, Paris, Hong Kong, Madrid, Bejing and more. She is also stocked in more than 35 countries world wide. Hailing from the beautiful city of Paris, she is commonly known as 'the French girl with the just-rolled-out-of-bed, can't-be-bothered look', yet she always looks amazing and women around the world want to look just like her. Along with celebrities such as Sienna Miller, Alexa Chung and Rachel Weisz. My beautiful French friend Marta of Life of Boheme actually works at Le Bon Maché in the Isabel Marant section of the well known department store. Marta is known around the world from her blog as she has that same style and certain "thing" about her that makes her style so unique and eye-catching. I definitely recommend checking out her blog, 'Life of Boheme.' Anyway, Marant blends her bohemia style with her tomboy street chic effortlessly and I am in love with her 'Pre-collection Spring Summer 2013' designs, in the photos I've shared with you below. I have just picked my favourite of the bunch but click HERE to see some more of the collection. A lot of her fashion is quite expensive making each item special and I intend to save up to buy a few of her pieces! They are well worth it! Anyway, the first photo below is of Marant herself, and was taken by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin which was published in Vanity Fair, January 2011.

I believe it was the high-top wedge sneakers that made fashion headlines worldwide with photographs of Miranda Kerr, Beyonce, Gisele Budchen, Petra Ecclestone and Rihanna all wearing the 'must-have' item of the season, making Marants
household name to those who had never heard of the designer before and were a little late
off the band wagon.

Anyway, from now on I know that Marants label will only of from strength to strength as
women and girls across the world want to be just like her. A definite cool cat and one to
always keep an eye out for!
