Fenji and Street Smith playing round

So it has been a little while since I've posted any outfits, or looks I've done with Street Smith! I love her photos and they always make me feel good when I look at them! Most likely cause Liz, the creative behind the amazing website and photography blog, is so damn talented!! These shots were taken at the beginning of winter, when the sun still had a litttttttle bit of warmth to it. Not much though!! I'm wearing one of my favourite Alice McCall dresses from her collection, 'The Imaginarium of Kitty Leroy - Autumn / Winter 2013.' The dress is known as the 'Mis-Cue Dress' and it's a beautiful printed silk. Originally $320, it's now on sale for $230.30 and is available to purchase online HERE. Love a good bargain!! I'm also wearing one of my many 'go-to' black blazers (you can never have to many!), this one is by Dion Lee and is such a staple of mine. Then I have LIFEwithBIRD wedges on that I picked up at the sale for $70!! so comfy and such a bargain!! And lastly my Assad Mounser bracelet/necklace with my staple sterling silver rings. Probably a bit to cold to be wearing dresses now- but only a couple of months till summer again! xx :) xxx

Fenji styling time. x

Wearing my faves here!! My new Lottie Hall knit which I am obsessed with… The colour, the style- everything... Too cute!! Then I have recently converted to wearing skirts. Something I never thought I would see myself doing, but I actually am liking the idea of it now and getting more accustomed to the whole 'girly' look… Sounds funny, but true- I've always considered myself more of a Tomboy!! Not to mention it was a nice sunny day, of which are rare now that we are about to hit winter in Melbs, so may as well make the most of it!! The skirt is by my sis, of course Alice McCall.. Very cute floaty style and it works perfectly with the cropped knit. Anyway, I also have my Miss Italy  cruciani lace bracelets on which are super cute and are a great way of accessorising an outfit and colour matching to whatever your wearing- without it being too much! Then lastly, my new, super comfy, amazing blue suede Bared boots. LOVE!! I'm so glad they are comfortable as I will be getting so much wear out of them this winter! I think they are all rounders really, as this is probably more of a summer outfit and I think they look super cute with a skirt! I've noticed a lot of blues coming through this winter and it's such a complimenting colour to wear :)
Anyway hope you like :) xx All photos are taken by the amazing, talented and gorgeous Liz from Street Smith Definitely go check out her site cause its super kool ;) xxx

MBFWA 2013: designer Alice McCall

Well, I am not being biased, but my sisters label is truly one of my favourite Australian Designers. I am so sad I couldn't make it up to Sydney to attend Fashion Week and my sisters show… I'll have to organise next year in advance as it just snuck up on me!! Anyway, Alice McCall's latest collection embodied grace and was feminine with that little bit of edge that she always manages to get just right. There was lots of oversized shapes to be seen in the collection which was inspired by 'under-the-sea,' which had a lot to do with the turquoise-blue eyelashes and hair that made the models look like they had just stepped out of the water, on to the runway I guess! Makes sense in the fashion world :) Anyway, Al used navy and white together which has been partnered together in past collections of hers and I think always looks great together, along with creams, whites and oranges which were truly beautiful. There were hints of metallics, lots of sheer fabrics and exposed midriffs, which have been a trend throughout lots of the designers collections this season. The digital prints made a come back and worked perfectly against pretty and playful designs and I think once again- my order will be HUGE!! I'm dying over the matching blazer and pants in the sixth photo down.. Simply dying, I tell you! The first outfit is cute- not me, but very cute! Then I don't know if the second one is a dress or top and skirt but the top of it and shoulders are seriously amazing! It's like a spider web that was made in the sea- well that's my thoughts on it anyway! Love the floaty look in the third pic. Easy, breezy, beautiful Alice McCall girl ;). I really want the dress in the fourth photo. So sleek and sexy. Love the print and the way it's synched in at the waist- very flattering! Then you have my fave- the matching blazer pants combo. I will own this. I just know it! The sheer maxi in the sixth photo is stunning and I love the soft material and draping peplum style to the waist. Very gorgeous. Pretty sure its a beaded playsuit after that which I think is amazing.. As I've said before- long sleeve with a lotta leg showing- always a good look! I love how it's not figure hugging and just loose and easy. I have a really strong feeling that the jumper and skirt after that will also make an appearance in this wardrobe of mine… OMG I loveeeee the skirt. So cool.. I've honestly only in the last sixth months decided I like skirts and now own a couple..Never thought I'd be a skirt kinda girl, but things change and I'm happy for it. The jumper is super cute too and that look is big at the moment! Ruby looks beautiful in the oversized vest and digital print T style dress.. Love the colour palette and the style. Then the outfit after that with the french navy pants and puffed sleeved blouse is really not my style, but in my mind- very sexy and cool on the right kind of girl. The next dress is almost a staple Alice dress- a signature look that is instantly recognisable as Alice McCall. Very cool, cute, flirty and fun. Loving the white maxi underneath with all the detailing and cut outs.. Around the waist too- very clever as it gives you that hourglass figure and elongates your legs, which most girls love!? I'm pretty sure I need to own the grey marle printed Tee dress with the orange. Love. Easy and cool. Then again- not me, but love the white and orange printed top and skirt in the look under this. The print reminds me of so many different things, but the word that comes to mind is 'Volcanic.' The silhouette of the silver grey and black top and skirt look after that is amazing. Very powerful and sexy. Something I don't think I'd ever be confident enough to wear- but if you were Christina Centenera- you'd pull it off in a second! I think the dress Julia Nobis is wearing underneath this is really cool and easy, with that amazing print! Then I am totally in love with the next dress. The style- the print- everything! Such a winner and super, dooper hot! Ruby Jean pulls off the puffed cream shoulder top and high waisted mini shorts like they were made for her- and making me want to wear them, but it just wouldn't look the same! Then I have no idea how the dress below her is holding up!?? You obviously need to have no boobs to wear this one.. Crazy- Can't wait to see it in the flesh! Then I guess to cut to the chase and wrap it up- I WANT ALL THREE LOOKS in the last 3 photos.. hint hint- Birthday coming up fam! But then again- these clothes don't hit the shop floor for a few months, so I guess we'll just have to save up instead. Obsessed with the white crop top and shorts, love the white pleated dress, then dying over the top and shorts in the last pic. Congrats Al- you never cease to amaze me and I'm so proud you are ma sis!!!! Love ya xxx (Photo's taken from Style Hunter)

Fenji Style Time at LMFF.

So I am lucky enough to get dressed by some of my favourite Australian designers for LMFF this week (including my sisters, of course!). Here are 4 of the outfits I will be wearing during the week. I also have many more amazing outfits by labels Friend of Mine and Lottie Hall, however don't have the photos of these yet to show you. All the outfits below are shot by the very talented and amazing Liz of Street Smith, of course! Anyway, below I am wearing Kirrily Johnston in the first outfit. I wore this to the opening night and got so many compliments!! I am in love with it.. It's a classic style, that won't date and I always love a touch of animal print. The leopard is like pony fur and feels so soft to touch!! I couldn't stop patting myself all night when I was wearing it!! Then outfit two is designed by my sister Bridget McCall and husband Nicholas Messner for LifeWithBird. The pants are the 'caterpillar' print and it is the print that you can see on the large Lavazza cup down at the festival. Bridget collaborated with Lavazza to design the extra large cup this year and it looks amazing! The I am wearing the 'Islands shirt' in sandstone, which is beautiful and something you would get so much wear out of!! I paired that outfit with my other sisters exclusive one off 'Alice McCall' boots which never went into production so are very special! I just love the colour.. Not many bright pink boots around, thats for sure! I also decided that I should wear my bright blue bag that my sister Alice bought me for my birthday from a Hong Kong market… Just go super colourful for a bit of a change.. The third outfit is another Kirrily Johnston dress which is so hot!! It feels amazing to wear and you can't go wrong with a little black dress! Wearing it with my mums vintage leather bag and Tony Bianco studded leather boots. Love them! I have already worn those to death and get compliments on them every time! Last I have on my other sisters design Alice McCall dress which is in store now.. How cute is it! I wore this to the opening event and everyone loved it… You can make it dressy or casual which is always a bonus!! I just paired this with my Tony Bianco boots again and my LifeWithBird leather bag. Anyway, hope you like the outfits and I'll get some more pics of the other outfits up soon! xxx

The silly season is here.

Well firstly I want to apologise for the lack of posting. Christmas got the better of me and after working something like 15 days in a row up until the night of the 23rd of December, at which point I hadn't bought a single present, I was pretty much exhausted and a little frazzled to tell you the truth!! I feel terrible as I really plan to post regularly with interesting content so that if you are checkin out ma blog you have a little smile on your face, or feel happy/ better because of it. Anyway, not much I can do now but post! So it got to Monday the 24th and I had Mum, dad, my 2 sisters and their partners, my two nieces, my fiancĂ©, his parents and his disabled sister to buy presents for. Uhoh… Somehow I managed to pull it all together without spending too much money (more than I would of liked too after it was all over but that is a habit I don't think I'll ever be able to break) and without being completely thoughtless as I was pressed for time. I am much more efficient under pressure as otherwise I am amazing at procrastinating! Also, I have a habit of wanting to spend every single cent in my bank account on presents and since I am about to go on a 2 week holiday to Yamba, I had to make sure I left some cash for living and food etc.. My goal for the new year is to be able to budget. I am so happy that one of my presents from my family was this super cute diary from Typo. I shall endeavour to use it every day to stay organised and on top of things! I am always getting into things like exercise for a few months at a time, then completely the opposite for a few months… I am like a roller coaster and next year I plan to start something and stick to it throughout the year. Like exercising 3 times a weeks all year, instead of every day for a few months, then not at all. Anyway, getting side-tracked (another habit of mine!) So another New Year resolution is to post more. I'd like to make an effort to post more about my life, interests, outfits and more. I am looking into jewellery courses as I want to start a label and plan to share my growth as a jeweller with my followers :) Hopefully one day I will have my own successful label and everyone reading my blog will be the first to find out information on it. Very excited!! So 2013 is all about getting fit, being healthy, happy, organised and to SAVE, SAVE and SAVE!! Oh, and to quit smoking.. I really want to but have so far found that one hard. Anyway, all I can do is try…. So to all of you out there reading this I wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and hope you all have a happy NEW YEAR. May we all have good luck and health in the new year :) Also looking forward to my role as an LMFF devotee for the festival in March. I can't wait to be amongst it all and share photos and information with you all! Both my sisters Alice McCall and Bird (Bridget and Nick) from Life with Bird are apart of the festival as well so it will be great to support them! So better get to bed now.. nearly 2am and I have to work tomorrow… eeeeeek! Love to you all xxxx (PS I included a photo of my new diary cause it's a goodie and I recommend getting one if you are on the hunt for one for 2013.. The colour in the photo doesn't do it justice.. it's much more nicer in real life… Just sayin ;)….) Fenji xxx

Lady in Red.

So I've come to the decision that every girl should own a red dress, or at least a dress with splashes of red in it. It really is amazing how red can look so good on so many different skin tones. I've seen girls with the palest skin wear it in a dress beautifully, while it looks stunning on darker skin tones as well. I've picked a few dresses from my favourite labels to share with you all below. Just to clear up - I'm not colour blind, there are a few pink dresses in there which I uploaded as they are too amazing not too (as well as dresses that aren't red, but have touches of red). The ones I've picked below are by Josh GootCamilla and Marc, WillowSass and BideAlice McCallLoverPreenMicheal Lo SordoAcne, Kirrily Johnston and Dion Lee. If I could, I would have one of each. Please xx (sorry about the quality- I couldn't touch up some of the images as I am not on my computer and I also didn't have the right sizes, but hopefully you get the picture ;).....)
