Isabel Marant

In 1994, Isabel Marant (born in 1967) founded her label, named after herself. She has 10 shops worldwide in the cities of Tokyo, New York, Paris, Hong Kong, Madrid, Bejing and more. She is also stocked in more than 35 countries world wide. Hailing from the beautiful city of Paris, she is commonly known as 'the French girl with the just-rolled-out-of-bed, can't-be-bothered look', yet she always looks amazing and women around the world want to look just like her. Along with celebrities such as Sienna Miller, Alexa Chung and Rachel Weisz. My beautiful French friend Marta of Life of Boheme actually works at Le Bon Maché in the Isabel Marant section of the well known department store. Marta is known around the world from her blog as she has that same style and certain "thing" about her that makes her style so unique and eye-catching. I definitely recommend checking out her blog, 'Life of Boheme.' Anyway, Marant blends her bohemia style with her tomboy street chic effortlessly and I am in love with her 'Pre-collection Spring Summer 2013' designs, in the photos I've shared with you below. I have just picked my favourite of the bunch but click HERE to see some more of the collection. A lot of her fashion is quite expensive making each item special and I intend to save up to buy a few of her pieces! They are well worth it! Anyway, the first photo below is of Marant herself, and was taken by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin which was published in Vanity Fair, January 2011.

I believe it was the high-top wedge sneakers that made fashion headlines worldwide with photographs of Miranda Kerr, Beyonce, Gisele Budchen, Petra Ecclestone and Rihanna all wearing the 'must-have' item of the season, making Marants a 

household name to those who had never heard of the designer before and were a little late 

off the band wagon. 

Anyway, from now on I know that Marants label will only of from strength to strength as 

women and girls across the world want to be just like her. A definite cool cat and one to 

always keep an eye out for! 

Isabel Marant Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear Collection.

Isabel Marant can do no wrong. After looking at my good friends Tessa's blog Circa-Now I saw her latest post on Marant's Spring 2013 collection and just had to do a post. I first fell in love with Isabel Marant when travelling to Paris a couple of years ago with my fiancé. We stayed with my gorgeous friend Marta of the blog Life of Boheme (quite well known for her incredible fashion sense) and her gorgeous fiancé Pierre. Marta was working at 'Le Bon Marché'  which is the oldest department store in Paris (and which I highly recommend if you are ever travelling there to shop! I could spend a week in there looking at all the beautiful clothes!). Anyway, Marta is lucky enough to actually work in the Isabel Marant section. I almost died! I wanted so many pieces, however was on a budget and just had to look. So it is now my goal to save up as much money as I can and work really, really hard so that one day I will have a wardrobe filled with goodies! Anyway, onto this latest collection. Marant stuck to her signature bohemian, on-the-prairie vibe look with beautiful and cute mini dresses, skinny jeans and ruffle tops. I am loving the black-and-white island floral dresses with red embroidery, along with the bejewelled and studded embellishments seen on the pants and leather dresses. I could definitely picture a few looks fitting comfortably in my wardrobe. I haven't included pictures from every look in the show, but my favourites are Kasia Stuss in look number 38 on the runway (in the order the models came out) in the embellished slightly cropped red pants, and sheer white Tee with more jewels and embellishments (She's pictured below on the far right on the last row of photos I've included). Funnily enough this isn't an outfit that I would usually be drawn to, but after watching her walk on the runway and seeing the clothing move and her sparkle and come to life, I was blown away. I really wish I could afford to buy both pieces! Look 39, worn by model Caroline Brasch Nielson is stunning (The left photo on the second row of photos below). She's the girl wearing the mini red leather (not exactly sure if that is the fabric) dress with embellishments and its a dress you can't take your eyes off. STUNNING. I think Aymeline Valade in look number 43 from the show (the girl in the far right photo in row 2 below), looks beautiful and sexy in the embellished white 3/4 sleeve sheer top, red studded belt and white slightly loose embellished pants. Definitely an outfit I would purchase if I had the money! Anyway, as there were just so many I love I have shrunk them and put in groups of 3 (and 4). Enjoy xx

 

 

 

Chase Cohl and Littledoe

Chase Cohl grew up spending her summers in a national park in Ontario called Algonquin Park, which she has described as; "Algonquin Park in Northern Ontario is my favourite place in the universe. Something about the silence that you witness in the evenings at Algonquin, the simplicity of the existence there, life is at its most naked. The water is the clearest you could ever swim in, the nights are the darkest you've ever seen, being that close to bare earth is truly ethereal," (Chase Cohl). Littledoe, the name of her accessories label is actually the name of the lake in the park there. She's a modern day flower child who grew up backstage at concerts and festivals with the likes of The Rolling Stones and U2, as her father is Michael Cohl, the former chairman of Live Nation (The Coveteur). Can you imagine!? Everything in her world is a reflection of her imagination and visions and can be seen with her teepee in the backyard (Style like u) and interior design of her home.

She is an accessories designer, poet, singer, songwriter and a very creative talented person all in all! Styling.

I'm one of those girls that always checks out the girls walking past and not the boys. I love observing and taking it all in. People are so creative! Whenever I've been asked to describe my style I always find it difficult to reply. Depending on the day I can change from one extreme to another. Hopefully, after getting my shit together I'll have a few outfit posts up and you'll see just how much I tend to change it up! The below are some of the thousands that caught my attention.
