So we just received in the latest collection from Ilaria Nistri at work (Husk) and I have to say, I am totally in love. I pretty much want everything from the whole collection. I love all the styles, the colours, the fits and the materials used. The Maxi skirt with the split open front, seen in the second and third photos below in white, the sixth and ninth photo in black (one has a leather trim- which is even more amazing), and also in the beautiful almost 'chartreuse/lime' colour-way as well as the khaki green, is my favourite piece in the whole collection. I am dying for it! It looks so good on and makes your legs look super long! The drape knits, oversized cuts and layering are all part of the 'look' and make for the perfect silhouette. I actually want to save for one of everything, including the over the knee, black leather wedges worn throughout the look book below, which are so so hot!!! I can imagine them being extremely expensive, but I can see myself wearing them to death throughout winter making the price totally worth it!! I'll just need to convince someone to buy it for me :)

Gabby Dover.
New face Gabby Dover was scouted by Priscillas Model Management while holidaying in Byron Bay about a month ago and within hours of being put on the books, she flew over to New York City where she signed with DNA agency and is now attending fashion week castings. At 18, this Aussie chick from Berry, NSW has the looks and height to kill and she is definitely 'one to watch'. I literally am obsessed with her look and can't believe she only started modelling 2 weeks ago. She was photographed in the below shots by Sam Hendel for Max May's blog, MaxMade. So effortlessly beautiful xx

LMFF behind the scenes.
So I am so lucky to be apart of L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival this year. I have been chosen as a devotee along with a few others whom I will announce shortly. I met up with the others this week and we got to hang out and play with an exciting project which I will show you guys when it comes out! At the moment it is a little hush hush. Anyway, I feel very blessed to be apart of the festival this year and it's all thanks to the amazing team at AMPR who helped introduce me to the gorgeous LMFF team. So on Thursday 24th January, hair and make-up trials were underway for the festival which will run from March 18-24th. I managed to get my hands on some of Anthony Licuria's striking and beautiful behind the scenes photos which I am going to share with you below. Not only that, but I was able to get some information on what the hair and make-up trends for this years festival will be. Caterina Dibiase, L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival Hair Director, said this year "we are seeing very definite and over exaggerate parts as a trend. Other looks for the season include hair with soft and feminine texture." She mentioned that they will move away "from the crisp beach look" and that "vibrant reds, short soft cuts and flashes (or highlights) of strong colour in dark hair" will be a trend that we will see on the runway. Not only that, but "one of the runways at 2013 L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival will be dedicated to the colour red." WOW! I am already so excited to see it and I am having thoughts about dying my hair red. Thoughts? Seriously! I also found out from Rae Morris, L'Oréal Paris and LMFF Make-up Director, that "this year its all about opulent glamour- think beauty inspired by precious jewels. Beauty that indulges the senses and looks expensive!" I can already picture the stunning models looking like creatures from another planet. Absolutely beautiful creatures that is! Rae mentioned that "eyes are a big focus and we are seeing a lot of strong, statement looks." She tells us that "it is important to be bold. You can use 3 to 4 shades of colour with the main shade complimenting the colour of your eye," and also to "be sure to use your lighter shades first and work into the eye with the darker." With information like this we are the first to know what the trends for 2013 are in general. Both Rae and Caterina have been in the business for years and 'hair and make-up artists' around Australia look to them for guidance and knowledge on what looks will play a role in the Australian fashion scene each season. I will be sure to make note of this key info and who knows, next time you see me I may have splashes of red and bold, statement eye make-up to match :) Can't wait to see their work on the runway! Tickets for the festival are on sale now through Ticketek or you can call them on 1300 795 012. Can't wait to see you there and hope you guys enjoy the photos (courtesy of Anthony Licuria) xx

Holst + Lee
So we recently received a new jewellery label at work (Husk) which caught my attention straight away. Holst + Lee is the collaboration of the two creatives Natalie Holst and Rochelle Lee. The two girls were both born in South America, however they met and began their line in New York. With backgrounds in art and fashion, the inspiration for the line comes from a wide range of people, places, culture and materials. The jewellery has been very popular around the world appealing to people from all walks of life. Some of the countries that stock the brand include Japan, Paris, London, Spain, Sweden, Australia and more! However if you don't happen to live in one of those countries, there are many online stores that the girls also stock at such as; Holst + Lee, Sadee Says, Shopbop and Shop L-atitude. Anyway, I have definitely fallen in love so I thought I should definitely share :) xx

Milan Fashion Week SS13. Take two.
So here are some more photos from fashion week; I love the black and gold of Emilio Pucci, the burgundy and tangerine of Jil Sander. Especially the outfit on the right in the last photo of the four below. I could easily see the blazer, top and shorts in my wardrobe. The prints in Marni's collection are amazing along with the use of metallics and shine in the fabrics of Giorgio Armani. I'm always excited to see Missoni's collection and it hasn't disappointed me! I love the latest one with the bright, sexy fun vibe. Salvatore Ferragamo has to be one of my FAVOURITES! I am obsessed with the white lace pants. I shall go on a hunt for them asap! Last but not least, Trussardi is beautiful and very wearable. Another designer to use both a bright/bold and soft sorbet colour palate throughout the collection.
I have been inspired by this latest Fashion Week to expand my wardrobe. Time to start working everyday for the next 10 years so I can afford to! hehe… seriously! enjoy xx
