Beautiful Hirschy.

So just before Christmas I was able to assist a stylist on a photo shoot with the amazing Hirschy. I first met Hirschy many years ago in Melbourne and knew back then that she was destined for the modelling world. Although she would never of guessed it, I'm sure. Very modest! She looks beautiful beyond words in her photographs, but it's safe to say she look's even more incredible in the flesh. The texture and tone of her skin, cheekbones, hair, well everything is perfect. Her body, although not super tall, is perfectly proportioned to be a model. So petit and small boned that she has that natural slenderness that is what divides born models and self made models. I am so glad I got to work with her while she had a short stint back home back in Melbourne as she is so lovely and gorgeous. Very friendly and approachable, while also very professional. After changing into hundreds of different outfits not really getting a break all that time (well we had a beautiful lunch from Carlisle st), she still managed to have a smile on her face and pulled through for the 2 full days the job went for. I took some behind the scenes photos as well to share with you, but I can't until the job is officially out in a few months due to a confidentiality agreement. In the meantime I have picked some of my favourite photos of the lil stunner to share with you all below. Honestly, the more you look- the more striking and beautiful she is! Enjoy xx

LMFF behind the scenes.

So I am so lucky to be apart of L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival this year. I have been chosen as a devotee along with a few others whom I will announce shortly. I met up with the others this week and we got to hang out and play with an exciting project which I will show you guys when it comes out! At the moment it is a little hush hush. Anyway, I feel very blessed to be apart of the festival this year and it's all thanks to the amazing team at AMPR who helped introduce me to the gorgeous LMFF team. So on Thursday 24th January, hair and make-up trials were underway for the festival which will run from March 18-24th. I managed to get my hands on some of Anthony Licuria's striking and beautiful behind the scenes photos which I am going to share with you below. Not only that, but I was able to get some information on what the hair and make-up trends for this years festival will be. Caterina Dibiase, L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival Hair Director, said this year "we are seeing very definite and over exaggerate parts as a trend. Other looks for the season include hair with soft and feminine texture." She mentioned that they will move away "from the crisp beach look" and that "vibrant reds, short soft cuts and flashes (or highlights) of strong colour in dark hair" will be a trend that we will see on the runway. Not only that, but "one of the runways at 2013 L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival will be dedicated to the colour red." WOW! I am already so excited to see it and I am having thoughts about dying my hair red. Thoughts? Seriously! I also found out from Rae Morris, L'Oréal Paris and LMFF Make-up Director, that "this year its all about opulent glamour- think beauty inspired by precious jewels. Beauty that indulges the senses and looks expensive!" I can already picture the stunning models looking like creatures from another planet. Absolutely beautiful creatures that is! Rae mentioned that "eyes are a big focus and we are seeing a lot of strong, statement looks." She tells us that "it is important to be bold. You can use 3 to 4 shades of colour with the main shade complimenting the colour of your eye," and also to "be sure to use your lighter shades first and work into the eye with the darker." With information like this we are the first to know what the trends for 2013 are in general. Both Rae and Caterina have been in the business for years and 'hair and make-up artists' around Australia look to them for guidance and knowledge on what looks will play a role in the Australian fashion scene each season. I will be sure to make note of this key info and who knows, next time you see me I may have splashes of red and bold, statement eye make-up to match :) Can't wait to see their work on the runway! Tickets for the festival are on sale now through Ticketek or you can call them on 1300 795 012. Can't wait to see you there and hope you guys enjoy the photos (courtesy of Anthony Licuria) xx

Clover Canyon Prints.

Clover Canyon makes some of the most amazing prints I have seen! I could buy the whole collection, the colours are so vibrant and the clothes fit on the body perfectly. I am in love with the printed slouch lounge pants as well as the neoprene printed mini dresses. If you are looking to brighten up your wardrobe or something for a special occasion, I highly recommend sourcing some Clover Canyon. If you are in Melbourne or Adelaide, we stock lots of the pieces at HUSK so definitely come into store and check it out. We are expecting a delivery any moment. Anyway, here are some pieces that I personally love below… Enjoy :) xx

Oopsie… It's okay, cause I found Serge Thoraval.

So It has been a little while since I posted! I went away to the amazing Yamba in far north NSW for the first 2 weeks of January and it was honestly amazing. If you are ever wanting to travel in Australia and love to surf, fish, walk and eat good food while looking at the beach from a cliff top, then Yamba is where it's at! Anyway, back to Melbourne now and back to work. It's time to start saving for the next trip.. It's also time to start saving for these pieces below by Serge Throaval. This cool chick came into work the other day wearing the 'set of 7 French sayings rings' and had them on different fingers (you can also wear them all on the one finger), and they are totally down my alley. I love the unique and raw feel to them. You can tell they have all been hand made making each ring slightly different from the next, and the quality of them is second to none! There are several pieces I am already wanting and shall stop at nothing till I can get them!!

The silly season is here.

Well firstly I want to apologise for the lack of posting. Christmas got the better of me and after working something like 15 days in a row up until the night of the 23rd of December, at which point I hadn't bought a single present, I was pretty much exhausted and a little frazzled to tell you the truth!! I feel terrible as I really plan to post regularly with interesting content so that if you are checkin out ma blog you have a little smile on your face, or feel happy/ better because of it. Anyway, not much I can do now but post! So it got to Monday the 24th and I had Mum, dad, my 2 sisters and their partners, my two nieces, my fiancé, his parents and his disabled sister to buy presents for. Uhoh… Somehow I managed to pull it all together without spending too much money (more than I would of liked too after it was all over but that is a habit I don't think I'll ever be able to break) and without being completely thoughtless as I was pressed for time. I am much more efficient under pressure as otherwise I am amazing at procrastinating! Also, I have a habit of wanting to spend every single cent in my bank account on presents and since I am about to go on a 2 week holiday to Yamba, I had to make sure I left some cash for living and food etc.. My goal for the new year is to be able to budget. I am so happy that one of my presents from my family was this super cute diary from Typo. I shall endeavour to use it every day to stay organised and on top of things! I am always getting into things like exercise for a few months at a time, then completely the opposite for a few months… I am like a roller coaster and next year I plan to start something and stick to it throughout the year. Like exercising 3 times a weeks all year, instead of every day for a few months, then not at all. Anyway, getting side-tracked (another habit of mine!) So another New Year resolution is to post more. I'd like to make an effort to post more about my life, interests, outfits and more. I am looking into jewellery courses as I want to start a label and plan to share my growth as a jeweller with my followers :) Hopefully one day I will have my own successful label and everyone reading my blog will be the first to find out information on it. Very excited!! So 2013 is all about getting fit, being healthy, happy, organised and to SAVE, SAVE and SAVE!! Oh, and to quit smoking.. I really want to but have so far found that one hard. Anyway, all I can do is try…. So to all of you out there reading this I wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and hope you all have a happy NEW YEAR. May we all have good luck and health in the new year :) Also looking forward to my role as an LMFF devotee for the festival in March. I can't wait to be amongst it all and share photos and information with you all! Both my sisters Alice McCall and Bird (Bridget and Nick) from Life with Bird are apart of the festival as well so it will be great to support them! So better get to bed now.. nearly 2am and I have to work tomorrow… eeeeeek! Love to you all xxxx (PS I included a photo of my new diary cause it's a goodie and I recommend getting one if you are on the hunt for one for 2013.. The colour in the photo doesn't do it justice.. it's much more nicer in real life… Just sayin ;)….) Fenji xxx
