Print on Print with Romance was Born from JASU xx

So on the weekend Liz from Street Smith and I got together to shoot some new 'Romance was Born' probably one of my favourite labels. Their pieces are timeless and so different from anyone else. The funny thing is that I would personally never think to put this shirt with this skirt, but it works? Well, I think it does ;) The outfit was supplied by the amazing online store JASU which also has amazing labels that I love like Friend of mine, Ellery and Goot. Love it!
I love how the whole idea behind the label is to be creative and out there. To make a statement and and fun with the clothing. Don't be too serious. I love playing around and changing it up a bit - especially wearing bright, bold colours and fun prints. The earrings are Assad Mounser and the necklace is Holst + Lee both available at Husk. Then the staple boots by Friend of Mine which I know own two pairs and contemplating a third! Anyway, here are the photos below x

FOM '15 minutes' Campaign.

So I met the lovely Catherine Liem of Style Hostess the other morning at the LMFF program briefing. Catherine started her blog back in November, 2011 and since then has been posting anything that she finds 'inspiring, from editorials to cookbooks, street style candids and some personal photos.'  She is so sweet and I'm really glad I got to meet her the other morning! I'm sure we will cross paths again soon. So anyway, after finding her blog Style Hostess I came across her post on Friend of Mines latest '15 minutes' campaign. Teale and Teish teamed up with Alexandra Spencer again, who both styled and photographed the campaign, along with model Rachel Russel (who on the Friend of Mine blog says she's with Next Models, but I can't seem to find her!?),  and hair and make up artist Carelene K, who managed to put together a very soft and natural look with a touch of a smokey eye, which I love!! (PS woah that sentence had so many commas in it…. so many!) Anywayyyy, the model is absolutely stunning and not only that, but the girls mentioned they 'wanted to find a model who could play different roles. Someone who could be vulnerable and mysterious.' I have to say I think she was cast really well and I find her very captivating. It is always so interesting to find the inspiration behind the work of artists, photographers and anyone in the creative realm of work. For this particular campaign, the shots are 'in vain of the "15 mins" quote -made famous by Andy Warhoul.' The photographs are taken in 'documentary style' and aim to highlight the juxtaposition between the reality and glamour of 'life in the lime light.' As it is often believed or viewed upon in society, the life of the rich and famous (and especially models), is seen as 'glamorous, attractive, elegant' to name a few. However, beyond the beautiful hair, make-up and editorials is hours of hard work. To produce a campaign or editorial can take days or even weeks for the final results to be complete. Lots of early mornings and late nights are involved and it is often far from 'glamorous.' But when the jobs are all done and we get to see the final work, it is well worth it!! I respect all those in the fashion business and am so proud of both my sisters, friends and Teale for being a small percentage of the many in the industry who can claim they 'have made it.' Anyway, thanks to Catherine Liem, I came across these shots as I hadn't yet (such a small world in the end!) I just wanted to repost them as I love Alex Spencer's photography and styling! Such a cool cat. Not only is she possibly the hottest woman on the planet, but she is damn talented too!! Enjoy! (Wow… sometimes I really write a lot…. I don't even realise until I have finished, then look and think- how did that happen!? Anyway, hopefully I'm interesting :P…)  xx

Friend of Mine, Baby Blues Campaign.

My beautiful Friend Teale Talbot, designer and director of cult fashion label Friend of Mine has just released the images from her 'Baby Blues Campaign,' photographed and styled by the extremely talented and gorgeous Alexandra Spencer of 4th and Bleeker. As quoted on her site, ' "Baby Blues" tells a story of a loss of innocence and depicts a darker side to the city of lights." Shot in Vegas with the stunning Tanya from 'NEXT models,' this shoot is completely captivating and I just keep scrolling up and down looking at each photo over and over again. Boots, oh how I love thee.

So i have an obsession with boots! Love them. I have gone through 2 pairs of my good friend Teale Talbots Friend of Mine Eastwood Boot (link to the boots- where you can buy! But watch out, they aren't the only amazing boots she designs for sale on her website), which are in the 7th photo down. Mine both have silver buckles though and since they have been pretty much the only boots I wear day in/ day out, I am still yet to learn the art of 'polishing' them, leaving them looking very 'vintage/ scruffy' (sorry Tealey). I often go along with the 'yeah I like the look of them scruffy and vintage', but I would prefer them looking nice and polished!! One Day.. Anyway, seriously thinking of biting the bullet and buying a third pair, the ones with gold buckles. Firstly because I don't think there are any more left with silver buckles, secondly because I think I would just be stupid to buy a third pair of the exact same boot (as in with silver buckles, at least the fact that they have gold buckles makes them kinda different!) and fourthly because I intend to look after the next pair- polishing and all so I have a great new pair of my faves in good condition. Good reason? I think so...

The boots in the 5th and 6th photos are also 'Friend of Mine' boots. The 5th ones are the Datona Boots which I am wanting to add to the collection and the 6th ones are the Cross Heal Red Boots which are an amazing colour and have a cross on the heal!! I'm in love with crosses (not that religious- just love them) and skulls as I'm sure you may have gathered!!

Love the first pair in the photos. Just typed in 'Vintage Biker Boot' on eBay and found them. They have since sold and weren't even my size. Lucky- cause I am broke and have 2 $350 fines coming my way from bloody red light cameras! I've never had one in the 8 years of driving and get 2 in one week!! Anyway, the second photo are Harley Davidson boots- loving a few of their styles and planning to invest in a couple soon.. Just when the money sitch gets a lil bit better!! The third and fourth photos are of Sam Edelman Boots which I've always had an obsession with for years now, and still don't own a pair!! One day. The eighth to thirteenth photos are of Jeffrey Campbell Boots which I have provided a link to the Urban Outfitters online store as they usually have a large great selection of his most current up to date boots.

Leather and Studs.

My favourite material would have to be leather. Pants, tops, shoes, belts, dresses - if it's leather, I'm pretty much in love! My favourite piece would have to be my Scanlan and Theodore pants I'm wearing below. They took me a good 6 weeks to pay off but definitely worth it! I have worn them to death! Then I'm wearing this beautiful Friend of Mine burgundy top and killer heals. The designer Teale is actually a good friend of mine so it can get quite confusing when someone asks, 'Whose your top by?' Friend of Mine who is a friend of mine. haha! She's so so talented and her designs are known to fly out the door! Very cool, easy wearable pieces and really affordable which helps! Also wearing my leather studied leather gloves by Ksubi, which I bought 3 years ago when I used to manage the retail store in Armadale, Melbourne. Then I also have buckle 'boot harnesses' on with chains around my boots which I bought last year from Dakota. They are amazing! You can literally unbuckle them and put them on any of your boots/ heels to give them a different look- add a lil somethin' somethin'. Anyway, I love winter dressing- beanies, layers, knits and I always love accessorising with as many jewels I can find! Getting into the darker shades of lipstick and nails too at the moment.
